What Is the Qaida Noorania?
The Qaida Noorania is a beginner reading primer. It teaches letters first, then vowel marks, then joined words, so a student can read Arabic correctly before opening the Quran. The word Noorani comes from nur, which means light, and Qaida means a rule or a foundation.
Who Wrote This Quran Qaida?
Two Urdu articles, from Deoband Online and Baseerat Afroz, name Maulana Noor Muhammad Haqqani Ludhianvi as the author. They place his birth in 1272 AH and his death in Ludhiana in 1343 AH (1925). The first edition had 17 lessons.
Qaida Noorani or Madani Qaida?
Both are beginner primers. We teach the Qaida Noorani, and your teacher follows one edition page by page. If your child’s weekend school uses another book, tell us at the free trial.
Why start here
A reader who learns letters, vowels and stops first finds Quran reading and Tajweed much easier later.

Arabic Qaida Basics
The Arabic alphabet has 28 letters. Each letter changes shape at the start, middle or end of a word, so students practice all three forms.
Where Each Sound Comes From
These exit points are called makharij. Ibn al Jazari’s classic poem on Tajweed counts 17 of them, across the throat, tongue, lips, nose and open mouth.
How Long Does It Take to Finish the Qaida?
There is no single number. Your teacher gives an honest estimate after the free trial and the first monthly test.
| Factor | Speeds it up | Slows it down |
|---|---|---|
| Lessons each week | Regular lessons | Long gaps |
| Home practice | 10 minutes every day | No review between lessons |
| Starting point | Knows some letters | Starting from zero |
| Sounds | Few errors to fix | Many old habits to change |
Noorani Qaida for Beginners: Kids and Adults
Both start with the first letter. The pace and the support are different.
| Kids | Adults and new Muslims | |
|---|---|---|
| Focus | Repetition, sounds, praise | The reason behind each rule |
| Common struggle | Attention and similar letters | Throat letters and old habits |
| Best support | A parent sits in, short daily review | Private pace, questions welcome |
| Teacher style | Short tasks, a change of activity | Clear explanation, faster review |
For kids after school
Lessons last 30 minutes, so they fit between homework and dinner. If your child loses focus, tell the teacher and we shorten the tasks.
For adults and new Muslims
Nobody watches you but your teacher. Adults who want to learn Qaida Noorania from zero start with one sound at a time, with no judgment.
For women and girls
Ask for a female teacher when you register. Female teachers are available in every course.

Noorani Qaida Online Classes at Home: How Lessons Work in the USA
You can take the Qaida Noorania online from your living room, with a phone, tablet or computer and headphones. A webcam is not required.
Pick your US time zone
We run lessons across Eastern, Central, Mountain and Pacific time. A 4:00 PM Eastern lesson is 1:00 PM Pacific.
Pair it with weekend school
Many families attend weekend Islamic school at their masjid. A weekday lesson adds private practice and does not replace that community.
When the clocks change
Daylight saving time ends on Sunday, November 1, 2026. We confirm your new lesson time first. Hawaii and most of Arizona do not change.
School breaks and Ramadan
Summer and winter break are good times to add lessons. Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around February 8, depending on the moon sighting. Tell us and we plan with you.
Parents can join
A parent may join or watch any lesson.
Safe recordings
Lessons are recorded for internal quality review only, kept 30 days and seen only by management.
Monthly progress test
A short test each month shows how far your child has come.
Why Do Families Quit Online Qaida Classes?
Parents on public forums describe the same problems again and again. Here is how we set up the course around each one.
| What parents say | What we do |
|---|---|
| The teacher is late or does not show | You get a free makeup class. Call or text us and we fix it the same day. |
| The teacher forgets the last lesson | Every lesson starts with revision. |
| There is no clear plan | A level check, the 17 lesson syllabus and a monthly test. |
| My child gets bored | Short tasks, a change of activity and a parent nearby at first. |
Common Qaida Mistakes Our Teachers Fix Early
Look alike letters
Mixing pairs such as ح and ه, ع and ء, or ق and ك. One changes the meaning: قلب means heart and كلب means dog.
Short and long vowels
Stretching a short vowel, or cutting a long one short, changes the word.
Rushing pages
Moving on before the last page is clean. Each lesson starts with revision for this reason.
Leaning on English letters
English spelling helps for a short time. The goal is to read the Arabic itself.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many days does it take to learn Noorani Qaida?
There is no single number of days. It depends on the learner’s age, how many lessons they take each week and how much they practice at home. Your teacher gives an honest estimate after the free trial and the first monthly test, so you plan with real information instead of a promise.
Are there online classes for kids?
Yes. Hifzora Academy teaches the Qaida online to kids in live, one to one lessons of 30 minutes on Zoom or Skype. Parents can join any lesson, female teachers are available, and every child starts with a 3 day free trial. There is no fixed minimum age.
What age should a child start?
There is no fixed minimum age. What matters is that the child can sit for a 30 minute lesson and copy sounds. Many families begin around ages 4 to 6. The free trial shows whether your child is ready, and you decide with the teacher.
How long does an adult need?
Adults often move faster than children, but the time depends on your starting point, lessons per week and daily practice. Someone who already knows some Arabic letters starts further ahead. Your teacher sets a pace after a short level check and adjusts it each month.
Can I get a female teacher?
Yes. Female teachers are available in every course at Hifzora Academy, for women, girls and children. Lessons are live and one to one, and you can ask for a female teacher when you register.
How does the Qaida help with Tajweed?
It builds the base. You learn where each sound comes from, how long to stretch vowels and how to stop on a letter. Tajweed rules depend on these skills, so most students finish the Qaida first, then move to Quran reading and Tajweed.
What Does Qurani Qaida Mean?
Qurani Qaida is a common name for a beginner book that teaches the Arabic of the Quran. It moves from single letters to vowel marks, then to joined words. In our classes, a teacher listens and corrects every sound live, one to one.
Is Noorani Qaaidah a different book?
No. It is another English spelling of the same primer. Qaida, Qaidah and Qaaidah all appear online, but the lessons, the order and the goal stay the same: correct reading from the first letter.
Why is it also written Norani Qaida or Noorani Quaida?
People type the name by sound. Norani Qaida, Noorani Quaida, Noorani Qida, Noraani Qaida, Norani Qaeda and Nurani Qaida all point to the same book. If a friend or your weekend school used one of these spellings, this is the course they mean.
What does the word Qaidah mean?
Qaidah comes from the Arabic qa’idah, a rule or a base. That fits the book, because each lesson adds one rule, such as a vowel mark or a stop sign.
Is there a PDF in English?
Ask which edition your teacher uses, because lesson numbers can differ between editions. With a live teacher you follow one edition page by page.
Can I learn Noorani Qaida in English?
The Arabic letters are always read in Arabic, with plain English used to explain sounds and rules.
